Marbled Papers
Atlantis France Marbled papers range is made in tanks on 100 g/m² pH neutral Ivory Ingres Dürer paper sheets. Oil paints, handicraft patterns, each sheet is a single original.
Marbled papers started to be used in bookbinding in the 17th century and remained crafted until the 19th century. The patterns are the result of color floated on either plain water or a viscous solution known as size, and then carefully transferred to an absorbent surface.
The patterns obtained are similar to those of marble or other minerals. They are used for book covers and endpapers. Atlantis France Marbled papers range is made in tanks on 100 g/m² pH neutral Ivory Ingres Dürer paper sheets. Oil paints, handicraft patterns, each sheet is a single original.
